Attendance Percentage Calculator
How many more you can miss before it costs you.
Work out Attendance Percentage. How many more you can miss before it costs you. Names the misconception directly.
Attendance so far
85%
You can miss 9 more and still finish at 75%
The number people actually want is the last two rows: how many more you can skip, and how many you must show up to. Both are computed against the whole course — classes held plus classes still to come — because that is the denominator institutions use when they check at the end of term. Attendance requirements are usually strict thresholds rather than sliding scales, and the consequence for missing one is often barred from the exam rather than a lower grade. That makes it worth tracking early, when the margin is still wide. Authorised absences, medical certificates and university-sanctioned activities are commonly excluded from the count. Check whether yours are before relying on this figure.
How the Attendance Percentage Calculator works
Your attendance so far, and — the thing people are actually here for — how many more classes you can skip before falling under the requirement, counted against the full course rather than the classes held so far.

Frequently asked questions
How many classes can I miss with a 75% requirement?
A quarter of the total course, not a quarter of what has happened so far. Enter the classes still to come and this counts against the full term, which is the denominator institutions actually check at the end.
How do I calculate attendance percentage?
Classes attended divided by classes held, times 100. The forward-looking question — what you need from here — uses the whole course as the denominator instead, which is why the two figures differ.
What happens if I fall below the requirement?
It varies, but being barred from the exam is common, and it is a harsher penalty than a lower grade. That makes attendance worth tracking early, while the margin is still wide enough to recover.
Do medical absences count against me?
Usually not. Authorised absences, documented illness and university-sanctioned activities are commonly excluded from the count, but the rules and the paperwork vary — check before assuming.
Can I get my attendance back up?
Only by attending. The calculator shows the minimum number of remaining classes you must attend, and if that exceeds the classes left, it says so rather than returning a number that cannot be achieved.
