Work out Critical Hit. Tells you which stat to raise next. Shows the working, not just the answer.
Average damage per hit
125
25% above base · Crit chance — each point adds more damage than a point of multiplier does here
Average damage is base × (1 + chance × (multiplier − 1)). The multiplier only applies to the fraction of hits that crit, which is why a huge multiplier at low chance often does less than a modest one at high chance. The two stats multiply each other, so whichever is relatively lower is usually the better next investment — and the crossover is computable rather than a matter of opinion. At 25% chance and 2× multiplier, a point of crit chance is worth four times a point of multiplier. This is average damage, not damage you will see. Critical hits make the variance much larger, which matters when a fight is decided in a handful of swings — a high-crit build can lose to a lower-average one simply by not critting.
How the Critical Hit Calculator works
Average damage including critical hits, and the marginal value of one more point of crit chance against one more of multiplier. The two multiply each other, so the better investment is computable rather than a matter of opinion.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate average damage with crits?
Base × (1 + chance × (multiplier − 1)). The multiplier only applies to the fraction of hits that crit, which is why a huge multiplier at low chance often does less than a modest one at high chance.
Should I stack crit chance or crit damage?
Whichever is relatively lower. They multiply each other, so the marginal value of each depends on the other — at 25% chance and 2× multiplier, a point of chance is worth four times a point of multiplier.
Is average damage what I will see?
No. Critical hits raise variance considerably, which matters when a fight is decided in a handful of swings. A high-crit build can lose to a lower-average one simply by not critting.
What happens above 100% crit chance?
In most systems it is wasted, which is why builds that reach 100% pivot entirely to multiplier. Some systems allow overflow into a second tier instead — check yours before capping out.
Does this account for resistances?
No. Armour, resistances and damage reduction all apply after this and can change which stat is worth more, particularly when reduction is subtractive rather than multiplicative.
