Amazon Reimbursement Calculator
What is claimable, and what usually gets missed.
Reimbursement policies and claim windows change, and Amazon values lost inventory by its own method rather than by your invoice. Treat this as an estimate of what is worth pursuing.
Expected reimbursement
$428
from $612 claimable
Claim windows are limited and they run from the event, not from when you noticed — which is why quarterly reconciliation recovers far more than annual. Refunded units that never came back are the category sellers most often miss entirely, because nothing flags them.
How the Amazon Reimbursement Calculator works
Amazon loses and damages inventory, miscalculates fees, and refunds customers who never send the item back. Most of it is claimable and most of it is never claimed, because the windows run from the event rather than from when you noticed.
Not financial advice. Marketplace fees change, and they vary by country, plan and seller status. Every rate here is an editable default, not a quoted price — check the platform's current fee schedule before you price a product against it. This is not tax or business advice.
Frequently asked questions
What can I claim reimbursement for?
Inventory lost or damaged in the fulfilment centre or in inbound transit, units refunded to a customer but never returned, fee overcharges from incorrect dimensions, and removals that never arrived.
What do sellers miss most often?
Refunded units that were never returned. Nothing flags them — the refund appears in your reports and the unit simply never reappears in inventory unless you reconcile deliberately.
How long do I have to claim?
Windows are limited and run from the event date, not from discovery. Reconciling quarterly recovers substantially more than reconciling annually, and reconciling never recovers nothing.
How does Amazon value lost inventory?
By its own estimate of the item's value, which may be above or below your cost. You can dispute it with invoices, and for high-value items that dispute is usually worth having.
