Etsy Seller Fee Calculator

Total seller cost across a month of orders.

Payment processing, the regulatory fee and VAT all follow where your shop is registered, not where the buyer is.

Each renews every four months at $0.20, whether or not it sells.

Rates last verified August 2026. Platforms change fees without much notice — every rate here is editable, and you should check the current schedule before pricing against it.

How the Etsy Seller Fee Calculator works

Per-order fee maths hides the fixed costs. Listing renewals, an Etsy Plus subscription and an ads budget are charged whether or not a particular item sells, so the only way to see the real cost of selling is to total a month and divide by revenue.

Not financial advice. Marketplace fees change, and they vary by country, plan and seller status. Every rate here is an editable default, not a quoted price — check the platform's current fee schedule before you price a product against it. This is not tax or business advice.

Frequently asked questions

What percentage of revenue do Etsy fees take?

For most shops 12-18% of gross revenue once listing renewals and ads are included, and higher for shops with a large catalogue relative to sales, because renewal fees accrue on listings that are not selling.

Do I pay listing fees on items that never sell?

Yes. Every listing costs $0.20 to publish and another $0.20 every four months it stays active. A 200-item shop spends $40 every four months regardless of sales, which is why dead listings are a real cost rather than free inventory.

Is Etsy Plus worth it?

It gives listing credits, ad credits and shop customisation for a monthly fee. It pays for itself only if you would have bought those credits anyway. For most small shops the credits are worth less than the subscription — the break-even calculator here works out where the line is for yours.

How can I reduce my Etsy fees?

Deactivate listings that have not sold in a year rather than letting them renew, opt out of Offsite Ads if your revenue is under the mandatory threshold, and get your prices right so the percentage fees are applied to a margin that can absorb them. Fee percentages themselves are not negotiable.
