Can I ask a buyer to send friends and family?
It is against PayPal's terms for a commercial transaction and it leaves you completely exposed. If the buyer later claims fraud, you have no seller protection to fall back on and PayPal may act on the account.
What does seller protection actually cover?
Eligible unauthorised transaction and item-not-received claims, provided you shipped to the address on the transaction and can produce tracking. It does not cover significantly-not-as-described claims, which is where most disputes actually land.
