This is the niche to reach for when you need a science image and cannot risk an inaccuracy. A photograph of a lab bench cannot state a false fact the way a diagram can. The prompts below are built around the things that actually vary: lighting, depth of field, tidiness and era.
What this cannot do
Two failure modes remain. Labels on bottles and flasks come out as nonsense text, so either crop them out or specify unlabelled glassware. And models will happily show unsafe practice β no eye protection, open flames next to solvent, food on the bench β which is a poor look on teaching material. Say what you want explicitly.

Why do bottle labels come out as gibberish?
Text rendering is the weakest part of image generation, and small text on a curved surface is the hardest case. Ask for unlabelled glassware, or crop the labels out and add real ones in a design tool.
How do I stop the image showing unsafe lab practice?
State the safety detail explicitly β "safety glasses visible", "gloved hands", "hair tied back". Models default to whatever looked good in their training data, which included a great deal of stylised laboratory imagery with no protection at all.
Can I use these images commercially?
