AI image models produce beautiful microscopy-style images containing organelles that do not exist, structures in the wrong places and scale bars that mean nothing, so they work as decoration and fail entirely as biology.
Micrographs are visually forgiving β colourful, organic, abstract enough that most viewers cannot tell a real one from a generated one. That is precisely the problem. The images are convincing, the biology is fabricated, and the audience for cell biology content is often students who cannot yet tell the difference.
What this cannot do
Never present a generated image as a micrograph, and never use one to teach cell structure. Models invent organelles, misplace nuclei, produce impossible membrane arrangements and add scale bars with arbitrary numbers. Genuine open-licensed micrographs are widely available from research repositories and are strictly better for anything instructional.

Research image repositories and open-access journals publish extensively under permissive licences, and many university imaging facilities release galleries. For anything instructional these are both free and correct.
