AI image models cannot draw a chemically correct molecular structure, so these prompts are for decorative and conceptual chemistry visuals, not for anything a reader will take as accurate.
Molecules are the single thing image models are worst at in chemistry. They produce something that looks like a structural formula and is wrong in every detail — bond counts, ring sizes, element labels. These prompts lean into abstraction instead, which is both more honest and usually what a header image needed anyway.
What this cannot do
Do not use a generated image where the structure matters. A diffusion model has no concept of valence: it will give carbon five bonds, close a six-membered ring with seven vertices, and label an atom "Crabon". For a real structure use a chemical drawing tool — ChemDraw, MarvinSketch, or the free RDKit — which draws from the formula and cannot be wrong about it.

Can AI generate an accurate molecular structure?
No. Image models have no representation of valence or bonding rules, so they produce structures that look plausible and are chemically impossible — wrong bond counts, wrong ring sizes, misspelled element symbols. Use a chemical drawing tool that builds the image from the formula.
What are AI image models actually good at in chemistry?
Photographic and abstract subjects: glassware, crystals dissolving, colour changes, laboratory scenes, and non-specific molecular abstractions. Anything where being wrong about a specific fact is not possible.
Why does "no text, no labels" appear in these prompts?
Because text rendering is still the weakest part of every image model, and scientific labels are the worst case — element symbols, subscripts and units come out garbled. Generating without text and adding it in a design tool is faster than fighting it.
